Our team recently published the Peerplays 1.5.22 alpha release, focusing on verifying compatibility with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Hive. We successfully completed verification against the Hive blockchain mainnet, while encountering a minor bug in Ethereum gas fee calculation. Fortunately, we quickly addressed and resolved the issue, paving the way for successful ETH transactions. Currently, we’re working on verifying compatibility with Bitcoin and developing end-to-end python-based test cases for the legacy codebase.
Peerplays 2.0 R&D: Expanding Smart Contract Capabilities with Ink
In the past few weeks, our team has been working on the Genesis mechanism for Peerplays 2.0. It involves launching initial accounts with the correct number of accounts and fund balances. We have been verifying smart contracts in Solidity, a popular programming language for Ethereum. To further expand our capabilities, we’ve begun exploring Ink. It’s an alternative programming language based on Rust, for smart contracts on Peerplays 2.0.
